Max Walsh
Ambassador
Hi, my name is Max Walsh. Although I was born with some physical and intellectual disabilities, it hasn’t stopped me from having a passion for sport, especially golf. I picked up a club when I was about six years old, and now, at 23, I am fully involved in the great game and all it offers to people of all abilities. I've been fortunate to be one of two New Zealand golfers to travel to the 2025 Macau Golf Masters, and I represent Special Olympics Golf, All Abilities Golf NZ & Disability Golf.
My top achievement for 2025 was winning the Disability Golf NZ Open in the Stableford division; the benefit of practice, focus, and a caddy on my bag helped me shoot a 79 off the stick on day two – a net 58. I'm really excited to be an ambassador at the 12th tee – a fantastic chance for everyone to practise anytime and enjoy some fun with mates. I look forward to seeing you there.
